First Baptist Church of Merryville is looking for a pastor. Merryville is a quiet and welcoming rural town in Louisiana with about 1100 residents located just a few miles from Texas, about an hour's drive north of Lake Charles and about 30 minutes south of Toledo Bend. We have around 60 active members with plenty of potential for growth. Our pastor of 23 years retired and we are still the same spiritual family that we were before. We're still having professions of faith and we love to worship on Sunday mornings. We have great Sunday school teachers, a very special children's ministry with usually about 30-35 children on Wednesday nights and a youth ministry as well for grades 7-12 with 10-12 students usually in attendance that prioritizes true spiritual teaching over attendance numbers. We are a Southern Baptist Church seeking God's will and guidance to call our next pastor. The pastor is responsible for Biblical teaching and preaching in accordance with the Holy Bible and within the provisions of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
