Bethlehem Baptist Church is currently seeking to call a full-time pastor to serve the church in spiritual and administrative leadership. Bethlehem Baptist is dedicated to the Gospel and Prayer. We are seeking a Godly candidate who meets the scriptural qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus1. We are praying that God sends us a man with whom we can develop a long-term pastor/church relationship, someone who is supportive of our families and their kids/youth, and someone who cares well for our elderly members. Our pastor must be a praying man with gospel centered theology whose life reflects this.
Bethlehem Baptist is located in Calvin, Winn Parish, LA, an area with a Forestry and Agriculture heritage. We have an average attendance of 70 – 80 members with 120 on special occasions. Bethlehem is growing, with younger families and older members longing to learn Biblical truth. We are a Loving church serving our community with compassion, while supporting and meeting family needs, from young to elderly.
Duties:
Guiding the congregation in matters of faith
Shepherding well with pastoral care
Ensuring spiritual growth and well-being of the members
Organizing worship services
Faithfully preaching God’s Word
Administering the Sacraments of Baptism and The Lord’s Supper
Conducting visitations of members and guests
Performing wedding and funeral services of members
Working with the Trustees and Deacons in managing the day-to-day operations of the church and church staff
Requirements:
A clear sense of calling from God for pastoral ministry
A life that reflects the Biblical mandate of 1 Timothy 3
Strong leadership skills, communication skills, and relationship-building skills
A passion for disciple-making
Education: Ministerial and seminary education is preferred.
Experience: 1-5 years of ministry and leadership experience desired.
