First Baptist Church of Benton is searching for a full time or bi-vocational pastor who is committed to the inerrancy and authority of the Bible. We are praying that God sends us a man with whom we can develop a long-term pastor/church relationship, someone who is supportive of our families and their kids/youth, and someone who cares well for our elderly members. Our pastor must be a praying man with gospel centered theology whose life reflects this.
We are located in northwest Louisiana in Bossier Parish, one of the fastest growing parishes in the state. Specifically we are located in the small town of Benton, the parish seat. The population of Benton proper is slightly over 2000, bound by agriculture to the north and rapidly developing suburban subdivisions to the south toward Bossier City, the population center of the Bossier Parish.
Our church meets twice on Sunday and Wednesday night for bible study, prayer and children/youth activities. We currently average 60 – 70 for Sunday morning worship and Sunday School. We are searching for a pastor who possesses the spiritual qualities as outlined in 1Timothy 3: 1-7 and Titus 1: 5-9. He must be a born again baptized believer in Jesus Christ. The pastor shall lead according to our church’s mission, by-laws, vision, and values. We need a man who is willing and able to evangelize, disciple, and lead the church in continued growth. We are members of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Northwest Louisiana Association. Our core beliefs are best summarized by the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000.
